Top of the world는 카펜터스의 노래이다. 카펜터스(Carpenters)는 1970년대 미국에서 활동한 팝 음악 듀오이다. 카렌 카펜터와 리처드 카펜터 남매가 멤버였으며 카렌은 보컬과 드럼, 리처드는 피아노를 담당하였다.
1969년 1집 앨범 《Ticket to Ride》로 데뷔했고 1973년 발표한 〈Top of the world〉가 빌보드 차트 1위에 오르면서 많은 인기를 얻었다. 1983년 2월 4일 동생 카렌 카펜터가 거식증으로 사망하면서 해체되었다.
